4th Annual Wakaboomee Earth Day Gala
Inspiring Youth, Sustaining Our Planet, Honoring Service
Join us on Saturday, April 4th, 2026 for the 4th Annual Wakaboomee Earth Day Gala, an inspiring evening dedicated to youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, and honoring service to our communities.
Hosted in Raleigh, North Carolina (venue details coming soon), this signature event brings together educators, business leaders, community partners, veterans, families, and youth changemakers who are passionate about building a more sustainable and equitable future.
The Wakaboomee Earth Day Gala supports transformative STEAM, Wellness, and Entrepreneurship education for K–12 students across North Carolina—while also uplifting community service and leadership, including initiatives that honor veterans and those who serve.
Guests can expect an elegant evening featuring meaningful storytelling, community recognition, engaging speakers, and opportunities to connect with individuals and organizations making a real impact.

January 2025
- January 2025 – Cyber Bears Robotics Expansion
Brought Cyber Bears Robotics programming to Durham, engaging students in hands-on STEM activities and building foundational skills in robotics, problem-solving, and collaboration. - Virtual Yoga & Tae Kwon Do (Ongoing) – Began January 1st; over 250 total sessions offered nationwide and internationally.
- Youth-Led Entrepreneurship Sessions Begin (1/13) – Held bi-weekly via Zoom at 6 PM; total of 22 sessions from January 13–November 9, 2025.
- Mindfulness with Mr. HealthyMindz (1/15, Ongoing) – Weekly sessions supporting Wake County Public Schools and after-school programs.

Love to Read Month – Over 100 books donated to PBS NC, led by Jewel Lowe, promoting literacy and family reading.

Mane Discovery & Art Spot Tutoring (3/1) – Art & Wellness Day at Dreams of Freedom Farm in Mebane for middle school students.

Durham Robotics Launch (3/15) – Over 30 K–12 students and families attend every 3rd Saturday, supported by NCSU, Eaton, and community volunteers.

Raleigh Firebirds STEM Game Event (3/28) – 675 attendees engaged in halftime STEM demonstrations. The Firebirds serve 400+ Wake County Public School students, integrating athletics and academics.

3rd Annual Wakaboomee Earth Day Gala (4/12) – Emceed by WRAL Anchor Gerald Owens, celebrating sustainability and youth leadership.

Go Green Day of Service (4/26) – 50 attendees participated in youth-led sustainability activities, solar demos with Dr. Wafa Khalil, and a community garden project.

Rootle Roadster Tour (5/17) – In partnership with PBS NC, engaged 3,496 children and families across Dare, Mecklenburg, Wake, and Alleghany Counties, distributing educational resources and promoting learning through play.

Soccer & Mindfulness (5/31) – Partnered with The People’s Game and Purpose Learning Lab, introducing Soccer + Mindfulness to K–5 students.
June 2025
- June 20, 2025 – Morrisville Juneteenth Celebration
Offered interactive robotics experiences that introduced students to STEM through creative, hands-on learning activities. - June 2025 – STEM Plug Robotics / PathForge Learning Expansion
Expanded the PathForge Learning robotics curriculum in Durham and Morrisville, emphasizing energy, sustainability, and teamwork while providing students practical exposure to real-world STEM applications.
July 2025
- Solar Festival (7/12, Lyons Farm Elementary) – Organized by Board Member Dr. Wafa Khalil, featuring student solar projects and hands-on renewable energy exhibits.
- Lead with Balance Virtual Sessions (7/14 & 7/28) – Led by Lakshmi Krish, Duke Certified Wellbeing Coach, helping teens balance stress and success.
- July 21, 2025 – Abundant Love Christian Day Care
Introduced teens to STEM and leadership opportunities, highlighting how community leaders like Dr. Marco Dove (Pharmacist) and Rep. Kanika Brown give back. Teens explored mentorship, service, and potential career pathways in STEM.

Back-to-School Supply Drive (Millbrook Elementary) – Partnered with Salvills and Raleigh Firebirds to donate supplies to 506 students, ensuring equitable school readiness.

PathForge Learning Robotics Expansion (Morrisville) – Partnership launched new robotics and coding programs serving K–12 learners, promoting creativity and problem-solving.

Teen Entrepreneurship Summit (10/18) – Hosted at American Underground, drawing 82 attendees for “Your Business Plan for Success.”

Featured mentorship, a live “Business Plan in a Day” activity, and a 90-second pitch competition.
