MONTHLY IMPACTS & EVENTS SUMMARY

January 2025

  • Cyber Bears Robotics Kickoff – Launch of the 2025 Robotics program, engaging students in engineering and automation.
  • Virtual Yoga & Tae Kwon Do (Ongoing) – Began January 1st; over 250 total sessions offered nationwide and internationally.
  • Youth-Led Entrepreneurship Sessions Begin (1/13) – Held bi-weekly via Zoom at 6 PM; total of 22 sessions from January 13–November 9, 2025.
  • Mindfulness with Mr. HealthyMindz (1/15, Ongoing) – Weekly sessions supporting Wake County Public Schools and after-school programs.

february 2025

  • Love to Read Month – Over 100 books donated to PBS NC, led by Jewel Lowe, promoting literacy and family reading.

  • Career Exposure Day (2/10) – Coordinated by Board Member Amy DeWinter; local leaders shared career journeys with students.

  • Athena in STEM Girls Conference (Meredith College) – 35 high school girls inspired to pursue STEAM through Wakaboomee’s presentation and mentorship.

March 2025

  • Mane Discovery & Art Spot Tutoring (3/1) – Art & Wellness Day at Dreams of Freedom Farm in Mebane for middle school students.

  • Durham Robotics Launch (3/15) – Over 30 K–12 students and families attend every 3rd Saturday, supported by NCSU, Eaton, and community volunteers.

  • Raleigh Firebirds STEM Game Event (3/28) – 675 attendees engaged in halftime STEM demonstrations. The Firebirds serve 400+ Wake County Public School students, integrating athletics and academics.

April 2025

  • 3rd Annual Wakaboomee Earth Day Gala (4/12) – Emceed by WRAL Anchor Gerald Owens, celebrating sustainability and youth leadership.

  • Go Green Day of Service (4/26) – 50 attendees participated in youth-led sustainability activities, solar demos with Dr. Wafa Khalil, and a community garden project.

    • Donations from Kansas Bonanno (Dollar Store, Morrisville) provided seeds for children’s garden projects.

May 2025

  • Coffee with Contractors (5/1) – Wakaboomee recognized alongside AJA+, emphasizing corporate social responsibility in education.

  • Rootle Roadster Tour (5/17) – In partnership with PBS NC, engaged 3,496 children and families across Dare, Mecklenburg, Wake, and Alleghany Counties, distributing educational resources and promoting learning through play.

  • Soccer & Mindfulness (5/31) – Partnered with The People’s Game and Purpose Learning Lab, introducing Soccer + Mindfulness to K–5 students.

June 2025

  • Morrisville Juneteenth Celebration (6/20) – Free Robotics for 100+ students; featured Dr. Marco Dove (Pharmacist) and Rep. Kanika Brown, celebrating youth in STEAM.

  • STEM Plug Robotics (6/21) – Expanded Durham robotics curriculum focusing on energy, sustainability, and teamwork.

July 2025

  • Solar Festival (7/12, Lyons Farm Elementary) – Organized by Board Member Dr. Wafa Khalil, featuring student solar projects and hands-on renewable energy exhibits.

  • Lead with Balance Virtual Sessions (7/14 & 7/28) – Led by Lakshmi Krish, Duke Certified Wellbeing Coach, helping teens balance stress and success.

August 2025

  • Back-to-School Supply Drive (Millbrook Elementary) – Partnered with Salvills and Raleigh Firebirds to donate supplies to 506 students, ensuring equitable school readiness.

September 2025

  • Continued hybrid sessions in Tae Kwon Do, Yoga, Mindfulness, and Entrepreneurship, reaching rural NC schools virtually.

October 2025

  • PathForge Learning Robotics Expansion (Morrisville) – Partnership launched new robotics and coding programs serving K–12 learners, promoting creativity and problem-solving.

  • Teen Entrepreneurship Summit (10/18) – Hosted at American Underground, drawing 82 attendees for “Your Business Plan for Success.”

    • Featured mentorship, a live “Business Plan in a Day” activity, and a 90-second pitch competition.

    • Launched the Wakaboomee Entrepreneurship Accelerator to begin January 24, 2026, at First Flight Venture Center.

November - December 2025

  • Ongoing bi-weekly Entrepreneurship Sessionsweekly Mindfulness and Tae Kwon Do, and monthly Robotics continuing statewide.
  • Continued collaboration planning for 2026 Leadership LabsGo Green Day of Service, and Youth-Led Summits.

OUR IMPACT

Through consistent hybrid sessions and community partnerships, The Wakaboomee Program continues to be a leading platform for STEAM, Wellness, and Entrepreneurship Education in North Carolina.
Our work ensures equitable access to transformative learning opportunities—supporting Wake County, Durham County, and rural communities through alignment with state educational standards, holistic wellness, and future-ready innovation.

EdMotion specializes in creating embodied learning solutions, such as SMALLab, a 3D mixed reality classroom. This innovative tool frees students from traditional K-12 classrooms, encouraging curiosity, teamwork, and discovery through whole-body movements.
